Area: Hvar, represents a part of the diverse southern Croatian archipelago, formed by numerous islands, that s quite well connected to the mainland ever since Croats arrived. This island was certainly the greatest center of early Croatian literature and at the same time a privileged domain of architecture, sculpture, painting and music. Therefore, one can say that island of Hvar is a monument in itself, as well as, the town of Hvar. However, rich cultural heritage is not the only thing that characterizes this remarkable islet. Island of Hvar is famous for its beautiful rocky bays and long sandy beaches. What's more if one enjoys privacy and peace there are eminent small islands called Pakleni otoci nearby. On the other hand, the heart of the island is quite agrarian; mainly dealing with wine growing which is another thing Hvar is famous for. Furthermore, climate is another factor that makes this islet even more attractive tourist destination. This area is one of the sunniest parts of the central and northern Mediterranean, characterized by an extremely bright sky and sun shining almost three thousand hours per year. This has an amazing impact on the natural landscape which is breathtaking. Regarding the town of Hvar itself it is the biggest settlement on the aforementioned islet. It is located in a beautiful bay south-west oriented, facing an amazing view towards Pakleni otoci. The old part of town presents beautiful sculptural sights back from Middle Ages, Gothic and Renaissance period as well as Baroque. This town also endows one with beautiful beaches, numerous cultural, entertainment and recreational facilities.
